Being safe at work

GlobalNet is committed to protecting the health, safety and welfare of all employees, contractors and visitors who are at, or who may be affected by, its work sites.  A person’s safety is not negotiable and all employees are responsible for their own health and safety and the health and safety of others including colleagues, contractors and visitors in the workplace.  We apply a risk management approach.  The higher the risk, the more safety conscious we need to be.

We are committed to:

  • compliance with WHS legislative requirements and other obligations impacting on our business
  • providing appropriate WHS training to all employees to enable work activities to be performed in a safe manner
  • promoting a consultative environment encouraging employees, contractors and other relevant parties to make help make decisions about processes that impact workplace health and safety
  • effectively communicating WHS information, including the requirements of this policy to employees, contractors and visitors in the workplace

What is expected of our staff

  1. All staff (including contractors) shall assess the risks inherent in all work, and ensure that those risks are adequately controlled and monitored including the investigation of all incidents which result in actual or potential injury
  2. All GlobalNet Managers will be accountable for ensuring that the incidence of injuries which occur in their area of control, including injuries to contractors, sub contractors and members of the public, is minimised. They shall ensure that all injuries are promptly reported and investigated
  3. All GlobalNet Managers will ensure that contractors demonstrate the capability to meet the requirements outlined in this policy through their own WHS policies and processes which minimise or eliminate injuries or illness to subcontractors and GlobalNet employees
