Our Chemicals Course

GlobalNet Academy’s course covers two (2) units from the AHC16 – Agriculture, Horticulture and Conservation and Land Management training package.  The course covers topics such as:

  • working safely
  • understanding chemicals
  • chemical selection, transport and storage
  • decanting and mixing
  • application of chemicals
  • emergency procedures
  • clean up and disposal
  • planning chemical use; and
  • spray calibration

The course can also be recognised towards other horticultural, agricultural and environment qualifications.

When does the next course run

The next course will run on the 3rd and 4th of December 2019.  We do require a minimum number of people (10) to run the course.  We will advise you by the Tuesday of the course week whether or not we have minimum numbers.

How long does the course go for?

The course runs for 2 days plus there are take home assessments that you will need to complete.

Entry requirements

We require all students to be 18 years or over.  For our 2 day course, we also require participants to be working in the horticulture or related industries and have had some experience with chemicals.

How much does it cost?

For a limited time only, the course costs $345 per person.  We will send you an invoice after you enrol and you can pay by credit card or direct debit.

Who is it suited for?

Anyone who uses agricultural chemicals in a workplace including landholders, farmers and producers, grounds and maintenance staff , contract sprayers, greenkeepers, pest management staff , vegetable growers, and others who need to use chemicals. Students will learn how to meet their obligations in the safe transport, handling, storage and application of chemicals.

Enrolment into your chosen course is generally by application AND interview.   Unless we believe that there are some very obvious reasons why you should not be part of the course, you will generally be successful UNLESS the course is over‐subscribed.  If this is the case, we will choose the best applicants.  If you are successful, your enrolment application will become the basis of your enrolment.
