This program is funded by Skills Tasmania and the NILS Network of Tasmania. There are no tuition or assessment costs to students for this course. If you need other support, please contact NILS to discuss your needs further.
NILS Tasmania may offer you travel and accommodation support if you are required to travel and stay away from home to attend the workshops. Please contact Melissa at NILS on 1300 301 650 if you require support and would like to discuss this further.
Please DO NOT book your accommodation until we have confirmed venue locations. The northern workshop, for example, may run in Launceston or it may run in Deloraine depending on the number of people attending in the north and where they have to travel from.
Only NILS loan officers who have been sent an invitation to enrol may enrol in this course. If you would like further information about the course or have any questions please contact John or Melissa at the NILS Network on 1300 301 650.
When will classes be held?
There will be two workshops for this course. The proposed dates for the two workshops are:
- Southern Tasmania: Wednesday the 21st and Thursday the 22nd of April 2021.
- Northern Tasmania: Wednesday the 26th and Thursday the 27th of May 2021
- Venue: Launceston. Most likely Door of Hope Function Centre.
If you live in Southern Tasmania and you cannot attend the Southern Workshop, you are welcome to attend the northern one and vice versa for those living in Northern Tasmania.
This course is funded by Skills Tasmania and NILS Tasmania. NILS has provided additional funding over and above the funding provided by Skills Tasmania due to the popularity of the course. As such, we ask that those enrolling in the course make a commitment to attending the workshops AND completing the assessments. It is very important that you understand that this course will require you to complete assessments outside of the workshop time.
You should expect to need to set aside between 10 and 20 hours after the workshops in order to complete your assessments. Wherever possible, these assessments will be practical and relevant to your role at NILS. Assessments can include: short answer questions, workplace documents, observations or interview by an assessor, case studies, portfolios of evidence and other relevant tasks.
